Occasional Carriages
About Us

Owner of Occasional Carriages, Yvonne Willeford, was born in Ohio,
moved to Texas in 1986, spent 7 years in Colorado from 1993, then back
"home" to Texas in 2000. She has been a professional driver for over ten
years and started in Denver, Colorado where she owned/operated
Occasional Carriages there running up to four carriages on the 16th
Street Mall.
She worked as the barn manager and trainer/evaluator for the Horse
Protection League of Colorado for three years and has been rescuing
horses for many years. She also worked at the North Texas Humane
Society and is a former police officer.
After coming back to Fort Worth, she sub-contracted three years for a
carriage company that has run exclusively from 1993-2003, before the city
allowed other companies to compete. After much consideration, the
decision was made to re-establish Occasional Carriages in Fort Worth
with the City's approval received on March 20th, 2007!

We are not the only company to choose from, however, we strive to offer
superior service, product, and personnel. We promise to go the extra mile
to assure your satisfaction. We are the preferred carriage service for
The
Renaissance Worthington Hotel
, Reatta Restaurant, Simply Fondue, and
The Hilton just to name a few.

Our horses are family and we make every effort to take care of their
physical and emotional needs! Their well being is of the utmost
importance to us. All of our horses are seen by the vet twice a year. The
"poor horses" work once or twice a week for about 2-4 hours. It is a great
semi-retirement job for them. It helps to keep them fit and mentally
stimulated as well. The rest of the time they roam our 40 acre farm with
big trees, a pond, and plenty of grass. Hawkeye, the "founder" of
Occasional Carriages, still enjoys barrel racing and long trail rides on his
off-time.  He and Comet love children especially, so feel free to ask the
drivers to let them pet them. We keep treats on the carriages for the
horses too, so they might even get a chance to hand them one!

We keep our equipment and vehicles clean and in the best condition
possible.
Drivers, as well as the horses are "well groomed". We keep high
standards on our appearance.
All of Occasional Carriages staff are caring and respectful. We will cater
to YOUR needs.

As always, feel free to contact us with any questions.
